adidas Y-3 Makura 'Core White'
Makura is Japanese for pillow. Foam wraps the midsole from the outside, so the comfort is visible before it is felt.
Underneath sits the opposite — a spiked rubber sole lifted from track shoes.

Background
Most Y-3 shoes begin in the adidas archive. This one does not. It started as an experiment in proportion and comfort — how soft a shoe can look before it stops reading as a shoe at all.
Yohji Yamamoto has spent fifty years holding two opposite things against each other and leaving them unresolved. Here it is a pillow set on a row of spikes, and neither gives way.
枕 — makura. The word for the thing you put your head on.
